Joseph Schooling places 16th at Worlds in the 200 IM-CONGRATS Jojo! - Videos

Tonight Joseph could not better the National Record that he broke in the morning but he swam another great race and swam his second best time ever to finish 16th in the Semi Finals of the 200 IM here in Barcelona at the World Championships.

I am very proud of “Jojo” for coming back for three days at such a high level meet and keep pushing himself to find a place between the best in the World. Only a Senior to be in high school and with a bright Future ahead of him.

Here are the Videos of the races for Gisela Morales (Guatemala), Mario Todorovich (Croatia) and Joseph Schooling (Singapore). Enjoy and sorry for the not so good quality, but we have to sit too far from the pool.  Anyway at least you can see it how I saw it ;-)>

2 National Records & 1 Best Time Today for us at Worlds in Barcelona

Videos will come tonight ;-) Sorry takes to long to download

What a great morning we had here at the World Championships in Barcelona.  We had three swims and two of them were National Records and the other one was a best time ;-)

Gisela Morales of Guatemala started the morning with the 50 Back and she swam a New Guatemala National Record with a 29”42. I am very pleased because I can see the potential and I know once we have this next season working on some strength and power she will swimming very FAST ;-)

Next was Mario Todorovich of Croatia swimming the 100 Free and going a Personal Best Time with a 49”80.  This year makes five swimmers in our group that swim between 49”50 and 49”96.  Love FAST Swimming!  Mario had a very good first 50 but he was a little deep on his underwater and his breakout was horrible L.  His first stroke was while he was still deep and he lost a lot of speed.  Well great job Mario and now ready for the main event for him 100 Butterfly.

Last was Joseph Schooling that really came this morning to compete after missing last night the Final of the 200 Butterfly by 0”1.  This morning he swam an impressive 1:59’99 in the 200 IM and got himself in the Semi Finals by 0”01.  Life is interesting, isn’t it? Joseph’s swim was a New National Record for Singapore. He has improved almost 5 seconds in this event since the beginning of this season.

Great Job to all and Good Luck Tonight to Joseph!

Proud of you Joseph!

Proud of You Joseph!

What can I say about today’s 200 Butterfly besides that I am very proud of my swimmer Joseph Schooling and also I feel very privileged to have ben his coach for the last four years. It has been a great journey that still has one more year together before he becomes a student-athlete in college.

I think that for a young swimmer like him being able to come up to his first World Championships and placed 10 th is a very good thing. I will write some more about who is Joseph and why in my opinion Joseph con become a one of the best in the world.

Here you have his video hat I taped with my phone and sorry for my screams and the moves at the end but I get very nervous!

Joseph Schooling Swims 1:57"23 & Qualifies for Semis in 200 Fly at Worlds

This morning Joseph Schooling swam a good race in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 1:57”23 that placed him 14 th and gives him a chance to swim at the Semi-Finals tonight here at the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain.

This time is Joseph best time in the morning and also his second best time overall. He swam a very smart race with an impressive last 50 which was the third fastest last 50 in the field. Hopefully tonight he will be able to get everything he has inside and have his best race and swim a best time.

Great Job Joseph! Good Luck Tonight!
