Emiro Goossen Commits to the University of Florida

By Sergio López Miró

October 4, 2012

Today I will show you the video of Emiro Goossen telling us where he has committed to become a student-athlete in college.  Emiro is one of the upcoming young swimmers that I coach at Bolles that I really believe has the potential to become a player at the NCAA level and also at the international level for his country Trinidad & Tobago.

Emiro has many ties to the University of Florida with his brother being a Junior and his uncle being the Men’s Associate Head Coach for the Gators, Anthony Nesty Olympic Gold Medalist in the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea.

Emiro has the size and the feeling for the water and he has been working very hard to make sure that when he gets to Florida he can become an asset in the sprint department for the Gators.  He is a very good freestyler and very good butterflyer.  His best times from last year:

50 Free:               21.06

100 Free:             46.26

100 Fly:                50.36

Watch out for him this High school season and also at Junior Nationals.  I have a good feeling about this one 😉

GO GATORS!!!
