Thank you for stopping by.  My name is Sergio Lopez Miro and I have been involved in the swimming world as a swimmer or as a coach for almost 40 years.  Swimming has given me a path in life and my goal is to share some of my thoughts and experiences here with you.  Let me know what you think and enjoy!

Sean Mahoney, Fabiola Molina & Diogo Yabe swim FAST in BERLIN

What a great meet in Berlin-World Cup for Sean Mahoney, Fabiola Molina and Diogo Yabe.

Sean swam so far the fastest here in Berlin and he was able to win the 200 Breaststroke for the second time on a row after winning a couple of days ago in Moscow.  His time 2:04.55 places him first in the World Rankings for this year so far.  He also had an excellent 100 Breaststroke with a 58.60 that so far that is over ½ faster that he had been able to do at every other stop of this 2012 World Cup Circuit.

If Sean keeps winning he will have to take me to have breakfast at METRO Diner here in Jax.  Best Breakfast in Jacksonville!

Now Sean will be traveling back to San Francisco for few days before he travels to Beijing for his next World Cup Stop.  There are three more meets and Sean will be swimming the three of them.  He is having a great experience and I have no doubts that he will be a much better swimmer after he is done with this great adventure.  I really believe he can still swim faster and hopefully he does.  At his last stop in Singapore Sean and Anthony Ervin will be doing some Clinics for a couple of the local clubs.

Fabiola Molina and Diogo Yabe had a very good meet too.  At least that’s what I think  ;-)  I don’t know what they think since they are not training here at Bolles anymore.  After London they moved back to Brazil, but it is always exciting to watch swimmers that you have had a chance to coach perform at meets like this.  Fabiola and Diogo are great swimmers and even better people and It was good to see them on TV ( and swimming well.  CONGRATS to BOTH!!!

Fabiola Molina & Anderson Lim swim at the Olympics-Day Two

This morning we had our two first Bolles swimmers compete at the 2012 Olympic Games here in London.  Fabiola Molina for Brazil in the 100 Back and Anderson Lim for Brunei in the 200 Free.

Fabiola Molina swam in the second seeded heat and swam a 1:01.40.  She was .97 of her life time best and honestly I feel very bad.  Watching her train I really thought that she had a chance to break a minute and get a second swim and hopefully be in the final.  She is a fantastic swimmers that works very hard. A true professional that she deserved to finish her career with a better time.  Sorry Fabiola and thank you for trusting Coach Michael Walker and me with your training this season.  Here are a couple of picture from Fabiola's 100 back:

Anderson Lim only 16 years old debuted in his first Olympic Games by breaking the Brunei National record in the 200 Free this morning.  He swam a very good and smart race and went a great 2:02.26. His coach Christian Bahr was on the stands cheering for him.  I am very happy for both of them and for Brunei.  Anderson is a very hard working kid and very good teammate to everyone and I have no doubts that he will keep improving in the next years and he will come back to the Olympic games swimming that 200 free a lot faster.  Congrats!

Here is a photo of Andreson Lim and Joseph Schooling.

More swimming tomorrow morning with Jospeh Schooling in the 200 Fly and Ariana Kukors in the 200 IM.

GOOD LUCK to both of them!!!

First Night in the Village - Great Quote

I was waiting for the elevator to go down from my apartment to sit in the street and make a couple of phone calls and write this blog, when I saw the quote above. I don't know who placed the quote next to the elevator so everybody could see it. Either Team Singapore or Team Japan, but honestly it is a great idea to place quotes like this every day in a place where the athletes, coaches and everyone can see it and hopefully use it.

I know I can use it everyday in my life. Something I always tell my swimmers and my own kids about how to take care of their lives but many times I don't remember it for myself. Now it is time for the swimmers and coaches to believe in the work that they have done and the way they have prepared. Nothing else matters.

This is a great quote that we can use everyday of our lives and I want to encourage everyone to use it because you will see great results. Thanks BJ Bedford.

Time to call home and talk with Sandy and the kids and ready for my first night here in the Olympic Village. What am not sure is if my roommate Ian Turner is ready for my snoring ;-)

Great day today since I got to see Megan Fonteno, Ariana Vanderpool-Wallace, Fabiola Molina, Charlie Houchin, Kareem Ennab, Anderson Lim and Nimrod Shapira. Good Times!

Living The Dream! - Team Brazil at Crystal Palace

Today I went on an adventure and took the train from Guildford to Crystal Palace, where the Brazilian Olympic Team is doing a camp before going into the Olympic Village.

It was a great day since I got to have lunch with Fabiola Molina and Coach Michael Walker.  After lunch we also had practice with Fabiola.  It has been almost two weeks since I last saw them back in Jacksonville, and it was nice spending this quality time with both of them.

Fabiola is looking good in the water and she is getting ready and very excited to represent her country in her third Olympics.  We are all very happy for her.  She is a great swimmer but even a better person.  A true professional swimmer with  true passion for the sport of swimming.  It has been a privilege to coach her and learn from her and her husband Diogo Yabe these past season.  Now I get to watch her swim at the Olympics ;-)!!!!!

I also spend some quality time with Coach Michael over a huge Caffe Mocha and a good conversation (yes a took short naps while he was talking to me but he is used to it ;-).  Probably was more of a monologe by Coach Michael, hahaha....

What I can say is that Coach Michael really is "Living the Dream".  Over the past two weeks he has spent the first week with the USA Olympic Team in Tennessee assisting Bob Bowman that has been in charge of Charlie Houchin and Ariana Kukors, plus being able to watch some great practices and have some great conversations with the best swimmers and coaches in the USA.  Now he gets to spend his time helping Fabiola to get ready for the Games here in London and at the same time he gets to watch the Brazilian team train.  Two weeks of high level swimming and great learning experiences.  No better way to learn.

I was very impressed with the set up that the Brazilian Team has here at Crystal Palace.  The pool is I believe over 50 years old but it is very impressive and really brought me back to the years I used to swim back in Spain.  Great memories.  Check out the Bus that the Travel around with, impressive!

Practices went well, I got to see my friends and they seemed very happy, I got to take the train and spend a couple of hours really thinking about how lucky I am to be doing what I do, had a great pizza and wings from Pizza Hut for dinner, watched over the net the Bolles Age Group Team swim very well at FLAGS (saw harley swim very well), and now I get to write this blog and hopefully I will take a good nap after.  What a great day and I guess i can also say that "I'm Living The Dream Baby!"

Tomorrow morning we will be going to visit the Olympic Village so hopefully I will get some good pictures.

Great day today but better day tomorrow.  BELIEVE!!!

On my way to Crystal Palace-London

I new experience for me now. In the train from Guildford to Crystal Palace to meet Fabiola Molina and Coach Michael Walker.

Since today I only have one practice with Team Singapore I am going to go and help at Fabiola's practice this afternoon.

It is exciting being in a nice train in a foreign country ;-)

Very happy to spend sometime together with Fabiola and Coach Michael. Fabiola has been doing very well in practice and she is very excited to represent Brazil for the third time in the Olympics.

I will keep you posted. By the way Joseph is doing g very well in practice so far. Yesterday he swam fast in practice ;-)

Have a great day.

From England - Cheers!
