Joseph Schooling places 16th at Worlds in the 200 IM-CONGRATS Jojo! - Videos

Tonight Joseph could not better the National Record that he broke in the morning but he swam another great race and swam his second best time ever to finish 16th in the Semi Finals of the 200 IM here in Barcelona at the World Championships.

I am very proud of “Jojo” for coming back for three days at such a high level meet and keep pushing himself to find a place between the best in the World. Only a Senior to be in high school and with a bright Future ahead of him.

Here are the Videos of the races for Gisela Morales (Guatemala), Mario Todorovich (Croatia) and Joseph Schooling (Singapore). Enjoy and sorry for the not so good quality, but we have to sit too far from the pool.  Anyway at least you can see it how I saw it ;-)>

Our Croatian Shark Mario Todorovic Semis at World University Games

In a couple of hours Mario Todorovic will be swimming the semifinal of the 50 Fly at the 2013 World University Games that are taking place in Kazan, Russia.  Mario swam in the first heat of the prelims a 23"96 that is a season best.

Mario has been training this past season with us here in Jacksonville and honestly doing a very good job.  He is one of the best talents I have seen in swimming.  I remember when I was coaching at West Virginia and saw him swim for the first time at Croatian Nationals I really wanted him to become a Mountaineer but the following year I left college coaching :-( It is funny how life works and now we have had the opportunity to work together.

Mario besides being a very gifted swimmer he is a great person and a true professional.  From day one he has adaptad to our way of training at Bolles and always being an amazing example to our young swimmers.  It is a privilege to coach him and have him around our young sharks.  He is not fuly rested or shaved for this meet since he will be in Barcelona for Worlds, but I still believe that he will do very well in Kazan.

GOOD LUCK Tonight!!!

Go Marios!

Ryan Murphy – 18 & Under National Champion – Videos & Pics

Ryan Murphy had a very good meet he still felt slightly short of making the World Championship Team twice in the 100 & 200 Backstroke events. He still was National Champion in the 50-100-200 Backstroke, third behind his teammates Caeleb Dressel and Santo Condorelli in the 100 Free.

Also Ryan’s performances in the backstroke events he sits right now 6th in the 100 back, 7th in the 200 Back, and 18th in the 50 Back.  Great accomplishment for a 17 year old swimmer and most important great future ahead of him.

Charlie Houchin does it Again & makes the Team USA Worlds

Video of Charlie being announced as a member of the 2013 Team USA for the FINA World Championships to celebrate at the end of this month in my hometown Barcelona ;-)

Charlie has done an amazing job these past two years here with us at Bolles.  I believe he has grown as a person and as an athlete but also most important he has had an amazing impact on our Sharks.  He is an amazing gifted swimmer but most important he has the will to work hard and correct anything he has to technically. I am very happy for him for his results this season and very thankful that so far I have had this chance to coach him, learn from him and share my thoughts with him.

After the Olympics he has done a very good job organizing his life and setting himself up with his company IX3Sports in order to keep moving forward, and hopefully represent again Team USA at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Here you have the videos of Charlie’s races. Enjoy:

Good Luck Charlie – Good Luck Team USA!
