Entries in Ariana Kukors (7)

Congratulations to Charlie & Ariana

I am so happy for both Charlie Houchin and Ariana Kukors. Today both they competed like Champions here at the Olympic Aquatic Center in London. Now they are Olympians and Olympic Finalists. Congratulations!!!

Charlie Houchin will walk away from this Olympic Games with an Olympic GOLD Medal in the 800 Free Relay. What an honor and an amazing accomplishment for all the hard years of training as an age grouper, college swimmer and now pro-swimmer. CONGRATS to Charlie, his family, JP, Ron Turner, Jon Urbanchek, Bob Bowman and my dear friend Sean Hutchinson.

Ariana Kukors swam a good race in the 200 IM and got 5th in what was probably the fastest 200 IM race in textile suits. She gets an Olympic Diploma and her dream of becoming an Olympic.

Thank you Charlie and Ariana for sharing this amazing journey with everyone at Bolles, Coach Michael and me. Personally an experience that I will never forget.

Thank You & CONGRATS!

Ariana Kukors makes Olympic Final in 200 IM

What a great night for Ariana Kukors! She swam a very control 200 IM with the 4th fastest time from both Semifinals, 2:10.08.

I am very happy for her and I am sure that tomorrow night she will be swimming faster. Now she is few hours away from making one of her dreams come true.

Fabiola Molina & Anderson Lim swim at the Olympics-Day Two

This morning we had our two first Bolles swimmers compete at the 2012 Olympic Games here in London.  Fabiola Molina for Brazil in the 100 Back and Anderson Lim for Brunei in the 200 Free.

Fabiola Molina swam in the second seeded heat and swam a 1:01.40.  She was .97 of her life time best and honestly I feel very bad.  Watching her train I really thought that she had a chance to break a minute and get a second swim and hopefully be in the final.  She is a fantastic swimmers that works very hard. A true professional that she deserved to finish her career with a better time.  Sorry Fabiola and thank you for trusting Coach Michael Walker and me with your training this season.  Here are a couple of picture from Fabiola's 100 back:

Anderson Lim only 16 years old debuted in his first Olympic Games by breaking the Brunei National record in the 200 Free this morning.  He swam a very good and smart race and went a great 2:02.26. His coach Christian Bahr was on the stands cheering for him.  I am very happy for both of them and for Brunei.  Anderson is a very hard working kid and very good teammate to everyone and I have no doubts that he will keep improving in the next years and he will come back to the Olympic games swimming that 200 free a lot faster.  Congrats!

Here is a photo of Andreson Lim and Joseph Schooling.

More swimming tomorrow morning with Jospeh Schooling in the 200 Fly and Ariana Kukors in the 200 IM.

GOOD LUCK to both of them!!!

London Calling - First Day of our Olympic Journey

At the Jacksonville airport with Joseph Schooling ready to catch our first plane on our way to London.

I am very excited to spend the next few days with Joseph and the Singapore Olympic Team. It is a privilege to be able to be one of the Olympic coaches for Singapore and at the same time a once in a lifetime opportunity to enjoy the 2012 Olympic Games.

Today Charlie Houchin and Ariana Kukors are traveling to meet with the rest of the USA Olympic Team in Tennessee. Also Coach Michael Walker will be attending the camp to help them with the next week's training before they depart for France for the second part of their training camp.

Also today Fabiola Molina and her husband Diogo Yabe left for Brazil to get ready to meet the Brazilian Olympic Team. We will miss both of them next year :-( Fabiola will be arriving in London by July 16th to continue with her adaptation for the Games.

Anderson Lim from Brunei will leave Jacksonville with Coach Christian Bahr July 23th to be there a week before he races.

Zach Payne from the Cook Islands left already to meet with his team and we will meet him in London soon.

Six Bolles Sharks have already started their 2012 Olympic Journey. Keep following my blog that I will keep it updated as much as I can.

Thanks for your support and BE ONE WITH THE WATER MY FRIEND.

Ariana Kukors Makes the USA Olympic Team

What a great night for a great lady.  Ariana Kukors makes the 2012 USA Olympic Team in the 200 IM with a great last 15 meters of freestyle.  I have known Ariana for many years and I have had the privilege to coach her at Bolles for the last seven months and the only thing I can say is CONGRATS ARI & THANK YOU!

It has been a privilege to be able to be part of her journey and help her reach her dream of being an Olympian. These past four years have ben very hard for Ariana after placing third in 2008 right here in Omaha, and these past 24 hours have been very intense full of emotions.  At the end everything worked out and Ariana will be going to London and will have a chance to show the World how good she really is.  I have seen at practice everyday something special with her practices and I have no doubts that now that she has her ticket she will be relax and ready to be Ariana Kukors.

Today placing second for her (or anybody here at USA Trials) is like winning the Olympics.

Thanks Ariana for allowing me to part of this process and I would like to give my CONGRATULATIONS to the person that molded her into the best Imer in the World, Sean Hutchinson.  Sean you should be proud for the amazing job you have done with Ariana for so many years. You are the man!

Well I got to go to bed since tomorrow (today I guess) we have great Bolles swimming ahead of us with Ryan Murphy and Preston Jenkings in the 200 Back, Ashley Neideigh in the 200 Breaststroke and Robbie Hayes, Teo d'Alessandro and Caeleb Dressel in the 200 IM.  Go Bolles!!!
