Few months ago I was named one of the thirteen Ambassadors for the 2013 Swimming World Championships that will take place this summer in my hometown Barcelona.  So I thought what could be a better way to really be a good Ambassador than to talk about it in my Blog.  I believe that I am the only Ambassador that as of right now lives outside of Spain, so I am going to try to promote this event in English.  I will try to keep you updated and share my thoughts about this great event that will take place this summer in the BEST CITY IN THE WORLD – BARCELONA!

If you are a swimmer (sorry if you don’t make your team), a swim fan, a coach or just a sports fan make plans to go and watch the 2013 Swimming World Championships.  I can assure you that you will have the time of your life.  I know, I was born and raised in this wonderful city.

Thanks to swimming I have been lucky and privileged to have traveled around the world and visited many places: amazing cities, great people, unbelievable food and wine, rich history, beaches, mountains and great night life.  Honestly BARCELONA is the only city in the world that will offer you everything for you to enjoy in one trip, and now you can get all that plus watching FAST SWIMMING first hand.

Catalan and Spanish people are very creative and they love to show and share with everyone how much fun life is, and I can assure you that they are planning great events and this 2013 World Championships will be one of a kind.  If you can DON’T MISS IT.

Here is the Mascot for the 2013 World Championships.  The Mascot name is XOP and it represents a drop of water with the influence of the great catalan artist Antonio Gaudi.
