Another great night for our Sharks here in Athens at the 2013 Long Course Senior Sectional. Very proud of our young Sharks.
Tonight we started the Finals of Day 2 with the 200 Free and we had all great swims.
Claire Rasmus had a tough swim this morning but one of the great talents she has is the one of believing and coming back at night with a positive attitude ready to fight. She dropped 3 seconds from her morning swin and tonight she swam a very smart 2:05.72. Few tenths of Juniors but if I know anything about swimming Claire Rasmus has a bright future ahead of her. #Believe
Caio Batista came back tonight and swam even faster than the morning which was a personal best by over 2a seconds. His swim tonight a 1:56″06. Great kid with an amazing heart.
Teo D’Alessandro keeps show in our young swimmers how to be committed to the sport and goals. Proud of him and thankful for the great example that he is for our young Sharks that have a chance to train with him. Tonight he did another in season best time with a 1:55″97.
Tonight Josh Booth swam also a best time with a 1:51″60 but the problem was that he went out too fast (25″38-53″24). He used his legs too much first 50 and I have no doubts that he can go between 1:49″8 & 1:50″3. Maybe tomorrow 😉 Congrats Josh!
Tonight we had Ryan Murphy try to swim his best time after Trials two weeks ago. He has kept resting and tonight he swam an impressive 53″57 by himself. I really believe that between now and the USOpen he can brwak 53″ 😉 #Believe.
Caio Batista swam another personal best this time in the 100 Back with a 59″93. First time under a minute. Great job today Caio!
Alex Goerzen had another impressive swim in the 100 Back with a 59″81. I know he can be much faster but until two days before we came here he was really sick. We have been a bad case of Flu/high fevers that for Alex lasted 9 days. He is really doing well and I am very proud of the way he is competing. Alex will be attending Auburn this fall and I have no doubts that they will develop him to be a very Fast swimmer. Proud of you Alex!
Our Russian Lady delivered tonight. Olga Lapteva. What a great kid and amazing swimmer. Remember her name because I really believe she will develop to be a world class breaststroker. She was also very sick with food poisoning and high fevers so she has been very sore and tired. Tonight she was an alternate in the 400 IM and she had to borrow a suit to swim when a spot got open. She listened to Coach Michael’s strategy and swam an impressive 5:05″72 dropping 5 seconds from her best and 8 from this morning. Olga never gives up and has a heart of a Champion. Personally I am very excited with the next three years that I have coaching her. #Silence 😉
Last thing tonight was our 400 Free Relay with our boys. Honestly right now I am a little upset so I won’t talk about it. They came in second behind Dynamo.
Good job today and best of luck tomorrow.
Go Bolles!!!
