I know I have not posted much on my blog for a while and I am sorry about that. I have been trying to get the team ready for the High School States these past few weeks and when I get home I am kind of toasted 😉
Well, today I am writing this one to ask you to help a good cause. I know nowadays we are always bombarded by good causes that need our help and at times it is overwhelming. But a good friend of mine, Brett Hawke, is trying to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis “MS”.
Three years ago his wife Trudi was diagnosed with MS and these past few weeks The Auburn Swimming & Diving Team has been working hard to reach the goal of raising $20,000.00. The team has been divided in two teams (Blue & Orange) and as of today they have almost reach their goal.
As of this morning both teams had raised so far $17,055.00:
Blue Team – Captain: Brett Hawke: $9,350.00
Orange Team – Captain: Trudi Hawke: $7,705.00
Today our Lopez Miro Family (Sandy, Harley, Cobi & me 😉 have donated $100.00 to each one of the teams and the reason for this post is to reach out to my blog, twitter and facebook followers and ask you to donate to one of the teams. I believe I have over 2000 followers on twitter and if only 500 of you would donate $5.00 (one starbucks less this week) we could help them reach their goal.
This summer my wife and I had the privilege to meet Trudi and she is a great young lady that has been dealt a very bad hand at this young age. Think about it and help them reach their goal so they can raise as much as possible to help finding the cure for a disease that affects millions of people all over the world.
