263. FAST 100 Free at World Trials for our Young Sharks!

By Sergio López Miró

June 25, 2013

Amazing morning during the prelims of Day 1 here in Indy for our young Sharks.  Four swimmers swimming 49+ in the 100 free and three of them high schoolers ;-).

Just plain FAST!!!

Our first swim and FASTEST swim was by our youngest Caeleb Dressell that with a blazing 49″63 breaks a very old 15-16 National Age Group Record done by USA Olympian Joe Hudepohl that lastest 23 years.  Caeleb took off from the start and with a very impressive last 15 meters holding his stroke made it all the way to the top eight.  He will be swimming the final tonight and will be competing for a spot in the 4 x 100 Free relay for the Barcelona World Championships.

A heat after we had Santo Condorelli, Ryan Murphy and Charlie Houchin battle all the way to another three sub 50’s.  Santo with a 49″71, Ryan with a 49″96 and Charlie with a 49″64 (missing the final by 0.02).  All of the best times and great swims for the first race of these Trials for our swimmers.

Tonight Caeleb and Santo will have another chance to better their times and hopefully secure a spot for the FINA Junior World Championships to celebrate in Dubai this next August.

Here is the video with both races.  Sorry for the quality but it was a team effort recording both races between Coach Jason and myself.  Enjoy and hopefully tonight  willpost some more videos.

GO BOLES!!!

FAST Swimming!!!
